How weekly salary converts to monthly

Weekly pay is converted to an annual salary by multiplying by the number of work weeks per year. The annual salary is then divided by 12 to estimate monthly pay. If you work fewer than 52 weeks (unpaid leave, seasonal work), changing weeks per year will change the monthly estimate.

Difference between weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly pay

Weekly pay is based on 52 pay periods per year (in a standard schedule). Bi-weekly pay occurs every two weeks (26 pay periods), while monthly pay is 12 pay periods. Semi-monthly pay is twice per month (24 pay periods) and can differ slightly from bi-weekly over a full year.
