Weekly to Monthly Salary Calculator
Convert weekly pay to monthly pay (and monthly to weekly) with customizable work weeks per year. This is a gross salary conversion tool (no tax).
How weekly salary converts to monthly
Weekly pay is converted to an annual salary by multiplying by the number of work weeks per year. The annual salary is then divided by 12 to estimate monthly pay. If you work fewer than 52 weeks (unpaid leave, seasonal work), changing weeks per year will change the monthly estimate.
Difference between weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly pay
Weekly pay is based on 52 pay periods per year (in a standard schedule). Bi-weekly pay occurs every two weeks (26 pay periods), while monthly pay is 12 pay periods. Semi-monthly pay is twice per month (24 pay periods) and can differ slightly from bi-weekly over a full year.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you convert weekly pay to monthly?
Multiply weekly pay by the number of work weeks per year to get annual pay, then divide by 12 to get monthly pay.
Is monthly salary always higher than weekly × 4?
Not always. A month is not exactly 4 weeks. Using annual pay ÷ 12 is more accurate for monthly estimates.
How many weeks are in a year for salary calculation?
Many calculators use 52 weeks. If you take unpaid time off, you can use a smaller number to match your schedule.
What is the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly?
Bi-weekly is every 2 weeks (26 pay periods). Semi-monthly is twice per month (24 pay periods). They can produce different paycheck amounts.
Can I use this calculator for part-time work?
Yes. Adjust “work weeks per year” to reflect the weeks you expect to work and the conversions will update.
